Baking Clay

Bake your own Ornaments, using baking clay:

2 cups flour

1 cup salt

1 to 1 ½ cups cold water

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Stir together, then knead into a big soft ball. Roll dough out, and use your favorite cookie cutters to create fun shapes. Place them on foil lined cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for about one hour. When they are done, they need to be very hard. When they are thoroughly cooled, you can begin painting them. When the paint has dried, spray with acrylic sealer. We hung ours on the tree by inserting screw eyes before baking. You can also make refrigerator magnets and jewelry with the dough cut-outs.
